southwestern bell sucks ass...

moving sucks...
we moved in to our new house this past weekend. what ever possessed me to pack all of my worldly belongings into boxes, move them across town, and stacked into a new house is beyond me. it will be months before i am settled, and even longer before i get the house to a state of repair that I am comfortable with. the house was built in 1928, and it WILL be a very, very cool place - but when you purchase an older home, you assume a certain degree of repair / rebuild. aside from the basic swiping of paint brushes in all the rooms, i will be installing a natural slate floor and granite countertop in the kitchen; tearing out all the walls (to expose the red brick) & replace 2 huge arched windows in the office; various and assorted plumbing projects; an entire tear down in the upstairs bedroom and bathroom - walls and ceiling must be sheet rocked, staircase will have to be rebuilt. it'll take a couple years to finish it all, but it'll be worth it in the end. until then, i'll live in disarray.
